Tarsier Tutorial: Adding Multiple Moving Agents

- Tarsier tutorial: Raster data
- Tarsier tutorial: Raster resampler - if you have a Geographic (lat/lon) raster, which would need to be converted to UTM before rendering

Placing Agents
- Make sure the flight from the Simple fly-through tutorial is open.
- The Renderview window should be selected
- click on the Agn tab
- on the usee control click the new button, then click view an Agency edit form window opens
- click Add new
- Double-click Agency data XX text, a new Agency editor opens up
- Select the Agency editor window
- click the Add button (lower left), a new list item gets created
- highlight new list item from left window of Agency editor
- From Type drop-down menu choose your desired agent
- Enter an easting and northing for agent placement
- To manually enter easting and northing
- highlight CAM tab and use e/n coordinates from view
- To place using the cursor
- enable auto add copy in the agency editor and send cursor3 (world tab)
- click cursor on render view and a copy of the camera is placed in agency editor with easting and northing
- if using auto add copy method don't forget to delete original camera
- To manually enter easting and northing
- Set size of agent
- Enable Enabled and Visible boxes
- Set transparancy to 1
- Enable Agencies box is in upper left corner of render window
- To accurately place the agent
- Highlight Keys button (bottom-center agency editor window)
- Use flight control keys to move agent
- shift + arrow - moves agent north (up), south (down), east (right), west (left)
- ctrl + up/down - increases/decreases size of agent
- shift & ctrl + up/down - increases/decreases elevation of agent
- left/right arrows - change heading of agent
- Once the agent is placed, change the time (num or text)in agency editor window, to correspond with the time of your render view
- If the time is not displayed
- Select the Time tab from the render view window
- Enable one of the display modes --> should display in upper left of render view
- If the time is not displayed
- If you plan on moving the agent through the frames, or fading the agent in/out of frame, you must assign the agent a group number (right-side agency editor)
- Click the + Add copy button in the Agency editor window
- Highlight the new copy from the list (Tip: to identify the copy look at the right side of the window; dist. from prev. = 0 is the copy
- Step forwards in your flight, to desired frame or time
- To step through your flight use the playback model time tool window (blue arrows move to previous/next time step)
- Enable keys on Agency Editor and place agent.
- enter new time for second placement
- Follow steps 12 to 14, until movement of agent is completed.
