Summary
The Regional Treatment Plant (RTP) was constructed two miles north of the City of Marina[1]. It began operation in 1990 with a design capacity of 29.6 million gallons per day (MGD), and was situated near farmland experiencing the most seawater intrusion. The construction costs were funded through both state and federal grants, and represent a sum total of $150M. The operation and maintenance costs for the RTP are paid for by property owners[1].
