Summary

Located on the former Fort Ord military base, the Fort Ord National Monument is 14,000 acre parcel that is one of the Recreational Planning Initiatives in the California Central Coast. The Monument is currently managed by the BLM who oversees the protection and management of 44 rare plants and animals present in the area.

The Monument boasts over 83 miles of trails that are accessible by foot, bike, and horseback.[2]
