California Coastkeeper Alliance

Summary

The California Coastkeeper Alliance (CCKA) unifies twelve regional Waterkeeper programs whose mission is to advocate for clean water for communities and ecosystems in California [1]. The CCKA was established in 1999, and their home office is located in San Francisco, CA. The regional Waterkeeper programs include:

The CCKA is operated by a nine member Board of Directors:

  • Kira Redmond, Vice President (Executive Director & Channelkeeper, Santa Barabara Channelkeeper)
  • Garry Brown, Treasurer (Executive Director, Orange County Coastkeeper & Acting Waterkeeper, Inland Empire Waterkeeper)
  • Konrad Fisher, Secretary (Executive Director, Klamath Riverkeeper)
  • Gordon Hensley (Coastkeeper, San Luis Obispo Coastkeeper)
  • Don McEnhill (Executive Director and Riverkeeper, Russian Riverkeeper)
  • Sejal Choksi-Chugh (Program Director, San Francisco Baykeeper)
  • Steve Shimek (Executive Director, Monterey Coastkeeper & The Otter Project)
  • Mati Waiya (Executive Director, Ventura Coastkeeper & Founder, Wishtoyo Foundation)
  • Matt O'Malley (Coastkeeper, San Diego Coastkeeper)
  • Jennifer Kalt (Executive Director, Humboldt Baykeeper)

Monterey Coastkeeper

The Monterey Coastkeeper is a regional water quality program affiliated with the California Coastkeeper Alliance and managed by The Otter Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to assist recovery of the California sea otter [2] [3]
