Summary

The Carmel Valley alluvial aquifer resides in the lower 15 miles of the Carmel River and is underlain by Miocene marine shales. [1] The California-American Water Company is the direct supplier water to the Monterey Peninsula extracting water primarily from the Carmel Valley alluvial aquifer.
