Summary

The Carmel Valley aquifer lies along the downstream portion of the Carmel River located southeast of the Monterey Peninsula.

The Carmel River drains a watershed area of approximately 250 square miles into the Pacific Ocean at Carmel Bay.[1] The groundwater basin is primarily the Carmel Valley floor. The floor is about 16 miles long and varies in width from 300 to 4,500 feet. [1]Cite error: Closing </ref> missing for <ref> tag
