Great Basin National Heritage Area

The Great Basin National Heritage Area exists between Utah and Nevada and encompasses White Pine County in Nevada and Millard County in Utah, as well as, the Duckwater Shoshone Reservation. This remote area boosts some of the darkest skies in the nation, many cultural areas, and hundreds of miles of ATV trails[1].
Overview
The Great Basin National Heritage Area (GBNHA) was designated a National Heritage Area by congress, in 2006. The GBNHA covers nearly 16,000 square miles. Within the GBNHA are two national historic landmarks, the Nevada Northern Railway, and the Topaz WWII Japanese American Internment Camp. In addition to the national historic landmarks, the GBNHA houses many state parks the Great Basin National Park[1].
