The Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency (MRWPCA) Regional Treatment plant is located two miles north of Marina and serves 250,000 people in Monterey County.[1] Another benefit of the Groundwater Replenishment Project is that it would also decrease the impacts of groundwater overdraft and the associated risks of seawater intrusion.[2]
