California has 9 Water Quality Control Regions, each regulated by its own Regional Water Quality Control Boards (RWQCB).
The regions under the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) are:
- North Coast
- San Francisco
- Central coast
- Los Angeles
- Central Valley
- Lahontan
- Colorado River Region
- Santa Ana
- San Diego
