The Brown Act

The Brown Act is California State legislation first passed in 1953 requiring that any public agency, including county,city, whether general law or chartered, city and county, town, school district, municipal corporation, district, political subdivision, or any board, commission or agency thereof, or other local public agency conducts its actions and deliberations openly with the public.
