The Gabilan / Reclamation Ditch Watershed

The Gabilan / Reclamation Ditch Watershed drains into the Old Salinas River and includes Tembladero Slough and its tributaries. It is 157 square miles, with its headwaters in the Gabilan Range, and its mouth at the Moss Landing Harbor[1]. The outlet is controlled by a set of tidegates operated by the Monterey Country Water Resources Agency. The Reclamation Ditch Watershed has a population of 170,000 people and contains the cities of Salinas, Castroville and Prunedale.
