Setting

The Triple M Ranch is a 195 acre farm located in the lower Carneros Watershed at 420 Hall Road, Las Lomas, CA. 95076.

Purpose and Goals

The Triple M Ranch is owned and operated by the Agriculture and Land Based Training Association (ALBA), a non-profit organization based out of Monterey CA [1]. The Triple M Ranch was purchased by ALBA, the California State Coastal Conservancy, and the Packard Foundation in 2000. The Elkhorn Slough Foundation (ESF) holds the development rights on the property and prohibits development in favor of agricultural and habitat conservation activities. Additionally, ALBA has set aside 135 acres of this property as a natural land easement [2], which serve as habitat for numerous plant and animal populations.

Wetland Restoration Project

The ESF in conjunction with ALBA, completed a Land Management Plan, which outlines the project that will restore or enhance the natural lands on the property. The goals of this management plan include (among other goals) the restoration of the Carneros Creek riparian corridor as well as on site wetlands, the creation of hills and ponds for the purpose of providing habitat for special status amphibians, providing flood protection, and the improvement of water quality.
