Tarsier has a few build in options for raster data color schemes. Often these color schemes will not be ideal for a visualization project. To load an existing personalized color scheme open up the raster color scheme menu and click the "open" button to navigate to the .tcs file.

If an existing color scheme does not satisfy your visualization needs, it may be necessary to create one.

  1. Open the color scheme menu
  2. Un-check "Auto scale"
  3. Set scale between desired elevations
  4. Chose "Custom" "Color scheme"
  5. Chose the desired number of entries
  6. Set colors
    1. double click color box to change the color for a particular elevation
    2. when the "fixed" box next to the color is white then that elevation value will have a color interpolated for it based on the nearest grey boxes
    3. when the "fixed" box next to the color is grey you must manually set the color for that elevation
      1. If you want your color scheme to go from light blue to dark blue, then you need only to fix two colors, the lightest desired blue and the darkest. If you want your color scheme to go from blue to green to red, then you would need to fix three colors, blue at one end, green in the middle and red at the other end.
  7. Save your color scheme
