How to upload a document to the wiki

Uploading documents to the wiki so that they can be accessed from wiki pages is a two step process:

  1. Upload the file to the wiki
  2. Put a link to the file on a wiki page

To upload a file, click 'Upload file' on the sidebar at the left of the main wiki window. Make sure you give the file a name that is clearly self-explanatory i.e. not "mystuff.doc". An example of a better name might be "ColorsOfTheRainbow.doc"

Once you've uploaded the file, you'll end up at the wiki page for that file. This page will have a title like: "Image:ColorsOfTheRainbow.doc". Its weird, but even if its not an "image", the page name will probably still say "Image".

To create a link to this page in one of your wiki pages, type: 

File:ColorsOfTheRainbow.doc

If you want you page readers to go straight to your file, and not via the wiki page for the file, type: 

 Media:ColorsOfTheRainbow.doc
