Summary

The Salinas Valley Reclamation Plant (SVRP) was constructed between 1994 and 1997, and treats wastewater at the tertiary level[1]. The SVRP recycles this wastewater for irrigation of edible crops. The facility construction costs were roughly $75M, were paid through the State Revolving Loan Program (SRLP), and repaid by Salinas Valley property assessments and water use fees. The water is distributed through the Castroville Seawater Intrusion Project (CSIP)[1].
