An environmental summary created by the ENVS 560/L Watershed Systems class at CSUMB.
Brief Description
Santa Ana winds have been described as strong down slop winds that blow through the mountain passes in southern California. These and similar winds can exceed about 40 miles per hour (18 m/s) and can severely exacerbate wildfires particularly in times of drought. [1]
