The Gabilan / Reclamation Ditch Watershed drains into the Old Salinas River and includes Tembladero Slough and its tributaries. The The Gabilan / Reclamation Ditch drains a watershed that is 157 square miles, with its headwaters in the Gabilan Range, and its mouth at the Moss Landing Harbor[1]. The outlet is controlled by a set of tidegates operated by the Monterey Country Water Resources Agency. The Reclamation Ditch Watershed has a population of 170,000 people and contains the cities of Salinas, Castroville and Prunedale.
